I was born Ivan Alex Briceno Salas in Santiago, Chile. My father was Fernando Briceno and my mother Hilda Salas. I have two brothers, Sergio the oldest and Arturo the youngest.I lived my early years with my granparents in Santiago, then moved to Vina del Mar and later to Concepcion.
In Concepcion I finished High School and entered to the Universtiy of Concepcion. When I was 12 years old, I joined the Boy Scouts and after many adventures I became the very first "Scout de la Patria" in the history of Chile, or the equivalent to an Eagle Scout. Later I left Chile and I hitchiked and walked to the United States. This journey took four years to be accomplished. There were hundreds of situations I encountered on my journey and many of them very dangerous but no matter how tough they were I still managed to arrived to USA.
Later in USA I worked in the restaurant industry from diswasher to restaurant manager and later to multi-units supervisor. I attended school at nights and received my A.A., B.S. and M.B.A after many years of work and study as the only two activities in my life.In the side I was operating some businesses to haev extra income.
Three years after I haved arrived to America I got married and later divorced. I had a daughter from that marriage; her name is Chrystal. Later I remarried my wife, Maria Laura, and I have lived with her over 15 years. We devoted our lives to raise my daughter without having any other children.
Currently, at 50 years old, I have decided to go back a bit to nature and do a lot of hiking and backpacking. I do this activity around my area in Lancaster where we are close to the San Bernardino Mountains Range with elevations of 10,000 feet. We also have the ski resort of Mountain High which I frecuent in winter to practice skiing and in the other three seasons to enjoy hike throughout the area.
I belong to the Pacific Crest Trail Association, American Hiking Society, and I volunteer with the Forest Service in my area to help make our forests, parks and trails an enjoyable and safe experience for all citizens and visitors.
I am the president of my own investment company, BG834 Investments, Inc. which is in the business of buying and selling securities in the stock markets.
I reside in Lake los Angeles next to Palmdale and Lancaster with my wife. My daughter lives with her fiancee in Carslbad, CA and soon we will become grandparents.
